| The Aveox motor with Kruse gearbox is strapped down to an
AeroVee aluminum mount. It was necessary to add a strut to help prevent
torque from twisting the motor and help keep it in the plane |
|
| The landing gear was hand laid from carbon fiber. It weighs
only 3 ounces but would probably support a model of twice the weight as
this Senior. |

This plane is one of my all time favorites. It has flown for more than
30 minutes in a single flight on only 16 cells, yet can leap into the air
from a 10 foot roll on the runway and climb with nearly unlimited vertical
on 20 cells. It is very relaxing to fly though because of its easy handling.
The huge tranparent red Monokote wing looks beautiful when it catches the
sun. Despite the size I can fly it within in a very small radius of area.
The problem is with landing it though because it just wants to keep floating
the whole lenght of the runway. Nothing flies like a Senior!
